This week’s Tip: What Difference does Differentiation Make?  Do we have it wrong?

Does Differentiation, when a teacher proactively modifies and tailors lessons to meet the diverse learning needs, strengths, interests, and readiness levels of individual students, work?

Research confirms that differentiating how the student demonstrates and applies what they have learned, works.   Examples: choices for final assignments, such as writing a report, giving an oral presentation, or building a visual model. Differentiating the actual lesson, however, can be damaging.  To see the entire podcast, click here:  podcast conversation with Jared Cooney Horvath
